The urban trekker has spent most of his adult life hiking, backpacking and exploring the vast recreational playground of Southwestern British Columbia, Northwestern Washington State and the Canadian and American Rockies.

I spent over 20 years being involved at both the participant and executive level with an outdoor club based out of the Vancouver YMCA where I met many friends whom I still associate with today and where I got to explore many of the trails and back country areas within the region.

This section will be put into four sub sections:
 

1. VANCOUVER AREA TRAILS - with a special write up about the Grouse Grind Trail - click on the link for more info on this historic and cult trail located across the harbour from downtown Vancouver and visible from the Urban trekker's balcony.

2. FEATURED MONTHLY REPORT - Devoted to a write up on a feature hike, park or wilderness adventure. ( under construction )

3. BACKPACKING TRIP REPORTS - articles on the many week long backpacking trips that I did in the 1970's and 1980's

4. SKYLINE HIKERS OF THE CANADIAN ROCKIES - Trip reports on the various week long trips that I have done since 1990 with this non profit organization based out of Calgary, Alberta, Canada
